Jamila Bayani is a Senior Legal Assistant at Ryan Carlisle Thomas, where she contributes her skills and dedication to supporting vulnerable clients through complex legal matters, supporting, and advocating for survivors of institutional abuse, and providing assistance to those affected by such trauma.
Currently completing her final year of a combined Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Psychology, Jamila joined Ryan Carlisle Thomas in March 2025, bringing over three years of valuable experience as a Paralegal and Law Clerk to the firm.
Jamila was drawn to Ryan Carlisle Thomas because of the firm’s core values, particularly its commitment to fairness, access to justice, and helping everyday people navigate overwhelming legal situations. These principles align closely with her personal motivation to make a positive difference in people’s lives through legal practice.
With professional aspirations to become a lawyer, Jamila is focused on excelling in her current role while steadily progressing toward this goal. Her combined legal and psychological education provides her with a unique perspective when assisting clients through difficult circumstances.
Jamila is multilingual, speaking Hazaragi, Dari, and Urdu in addition to English, which enhances her ability to connect with diverse clients and communities.
Outside of work, Jamila enjoys reading books, which helps balance her busy professional life with personal enrichment and relaxation.
