Elizabeth Becker

Managing Partner

Institutional Abuse & Family Law

Elizabeth Becker is one of the two Managing Partners of Ryan Carlisle Thomas and Stringer Clark Lawyers. As head of both the Family Law and Abuse Law departments, Elizabeth is keenly focused on helping clients through some of the most difficult personal situations imaginable, with a strong emphasis on social justice, gender equality and multicultural awareness.

Before joining Ryan Carlisle Thomas in 2016, Elizabeth worked for one of Australia’s largest plaintiff law firms as well within the Community Justice Sector, most significantly as the Principal Lawyer at InTouch Multicultural Centre Against Family Violence. As a Mentor of the Year finalist at the 2019 Australian Law Awards, Elizabeth is committed to nurturing the next generation of legal minds.

During her career, Elizabeth has overseen the establishment and accreditation of Australia’s first Community Legal Centre housed within a family violence practice and represented her clients in a unique, multidisciplinary and holistic approach to family law. Elizabeth has also collaborated in a ground-breaking Health-Justice Partnership with Monash Hospital in which she established an outreach program and saw patients of Dandenong Hospital who required legal advice and representation.

Outside of work, Elizabeth loves to explore the world, having travelled extensively across China, Russia, India, Japan, Mexico, America, Europe and Asia. She has a deep love for Nick Cave, literature, films and spends most of her free time hanging out with her family, friends and a menagerie of pets.
