Special Counsel

Historical Institutional Abuse, Workers Compensation & WorkCover Claims, Road Injury & TAC Claims, Injury In Public Places, Personal Injury

Anna is an experienced personal injury lawyer with more than 12 years of personal injury experience. She is passionate about obtaining fair and commensurate compensation for injured clients and survivors of historical abuse. She has experience in Historical Abuse compensation, WorkCover, Transport Accident claims, injury in public places and medical negligence.

Anna welcomes the opportunity to help vulnerable clients navigate the injury compensation process. Changes to Victorian legislation in recent years have made it easier for survivors of child and institutional abuse to seek and secure compensation with the guidance of an experienced lawyer. Anna finds it particularly rewarding to assist clients who have suffered institutional and sexual abuse and have in the past been forgotten.

Anna draws on her multicultural background and experiences to better understand vulnerable clients to optimise claim outcomes. This positively impacts her practise when focusing on the needs of injured clients, including in sensitive and complex personal injury and institutional abuse matters. Clients appreciate Anna’s commitment to empathetic client engagement, strong advocacy and focus on building strong relationships with relevant stakeholders to enhance optimum claim outcomes.

Admitted as an Australian Lawyer in March 2009, Anna has private practice experience as a Plaintiff Lawyer and has also worked as in-house Defence Counsel in a large corporate entity.

Anna is fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and speaks Malayalam, having Indian roots and growing up in multi-cultural Malaysia. Having started her legal practise in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Anna settled in Australia in 1995 and has also lived, worked and studied in the UK and the US.

Her qualifications include: LLB (Hons) Kings College, University of London; Bar Finals (Lincoln’s Inn) – London UK; and MBA Melbourne Business School, University of Melbourne. She is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and the Australian Lawyers Alliance, as well as a Trustee of the not for profit Law Aid Fund.

Anna also thoroughly enjoys being the mother of twins, international travel, cooking, music and singing.
