Annie Kent

Sexual and Institutional Abuse, Employment Law

Annie has come a long way since growing up in rural South West Victoria.

She started out her career in the law at the deep end with a challenging position as a paralegal in our Institutional Abuse team. While doing this she gained a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the Australian National University.

It was the turning point in her career and made her determined to be admitted to practice as a fully qualified lawyer with us. Having already completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Melbourne, Annie went on to add a Bachelor of Laws at La Trobe University to her qualifications.

Her interest in the law combined with her desire for overseas travel saw Annie complete an International Law course at the Université de Genève in Geneva, Switzerland, as part of Duke University’s summer school program.

While now living in Melbourne and having travelled extensively overseas, Annie remains very attached to her roots. As a result, she frequently drives back to spend time her family and also her aunt who has a dairy farm in a small town in regional Victoria.

In addition to her legal expertise, Annie is a keen nutritionist, subjecting her work colleagues to taste trials of her new health treats. So far, they appear to have been a success.
