Supporting the National Jockeys Trust
Ryan Carlisle Thomas is proudly attending and supporting the National Jockeys Trust T20 Cricket Match at Caulfield Park today. The 20-over format game will see 11 of racing’s most talented jockeys taking on the “Racing All Stars” in the name of charity.
The match is a major fundraiser for the National Jockeys Trust. The Trust provides financial support to current and former jockeys and their families in times of need, especially when those times of need involve serious injury, illness or death. Race riding is a risky occupation and jockeys put themselves in danger every time they go to work. Sadly, injury is commonplace in the sport. Serious injury and death can too often put families into financial hardship.
Since its establishment in 2004, the Trust has provided, and continues to provide, funds for home modification of injured jockeys, education support for family members, funeral and burial expenses as well as grants of financial support. The Trust has provided support to some 331 jockeys and/or their families.
Ryan Carlisle Thomas has proudly supported the Trust and its fundraising endeavours since 2004. Ross Inglis of RCT has remained a Trustee since the establishment of the Trust.
Ryan Carlisle Thomas is the recommended law firm for members of the Victorian Jockeys Association, of which every Victorian jockey and apprentice jockey is a member. Through this proud partnership, our firm has been able to advise and guide our jockey clients through times of hardship. It is through this partnership that we have seen and appreciated the significance of the National Jockeys Trust and the valuable support it provides.
We hope the National Jockeys Trust T20 Cricket Match is a success and achieves the fundraising target of $100,000. To support this important cause, you can donate at https://give.everydayhero.com/au/bradrawiller18.
