RCT donates clothes to Wear for Success

This September, RCT was challenged by the LIV Young Lawyers Community Issues Committee to donate an archive box of office attire accessories in good condition for Wear for Success.

Emma Muse of our office is a committee member and is devoted to the group’s objective to involve and educate members about social issues and to facilitate young lawyers' engagement with community projects. She organised the donations for the firm and was blown away by the response from RCT, both in terms of the volume and the outstanding quality of donations.

Wear for Success was a natural fit for the committee and RCT, with its social justice background. Wear for success will use these donations to fit out people in need with professional attire to assist them to attend job interviews. They will also provide them with more donations once they successfully obtain employment. To date, Wear of Success has provided over 3,800 people with professional clothing and training, which would otherwise be out of their reach.

The staff at RCT didn’t waste any time getting their donations together. Altogether, RCT donated 5 suits (with our Managing Partner Ron Pearce donating 3 suits alone), 6 skirts, 4 men’s shirts, 5 dresses, 5 ladies blouses, 3 pairs of men’s dress shoes, a pair of ladies’ boots, a leather jacket and a number of beautiful scarves. These donations easily met the challenge at least 3 times over and weighed over 20 kilos! There is no doubt that these donations will help our most vulnerable to feel confident, ease some of their stress and take the first crucial steps towards meaningful employment.

RCT is here to stand with those who need support. We are proud to donate to Wear for Success and assist the LIV Young Lawyers Community Issues Committee.
